Welcome to the Tamar Valley Vibe!

Hello! I’m John, welcome to my website celebrating the great outdoors, food and culture of the area I am lucky to have grown up, worked and lived in for most of my life.

My career started in the countryside, attending agricultural college and working as a ranger before joining the Police. Twenty years later, thoroughly disillusioned, I quit the job, became a mature student at the University of Plymouth and graduated the following year with a Masters Degree in Brand & Design Management.

Passionate about the places and people who make the Tamar Valley great, I look forward to sharing new insights and ideas with all who love living in or visiting our amazing part of the world.

About the website

If you love the outdoors or have a passion for local food, history, arts, crafts, and artisans without being limited to one county over the other, then the Tamar Valley Vibe is for you!

The Tamar Valley Vibe is an online resource, with lifestyle magazine, by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. Our chosen categories provide a stage for many lifestyle enterprises to showcase their talents as well as an opportunity for larger organisations to share insights into their work in our area.

The aim is to make it a little easier for all who want to find out about enjoyable and interesting topics, on both sides of the Tamar, through one convenient website. Also, we’ll be doing our bit to support some good causes and groups along the way.

Initially, the website will concentrate on the geographical area of the Lower Tamar Valley; From Launceston, taking in much of South East Cornwall, Plymouth and South West Devon. This includes the Towns of Tavistock, Callington, Saltash and Torpoint as well as the stunning surrounding coast and countryside on both sides of the River Tamar.

Of course the Tamar Valley extends further north than this and the impact of the river in shaping the habitation, historical importance and experience of the area means its influence extends far beyond lines on a map. So, with that in mind, if a product, service or issue connected to our subject categories can be experienced in, or readily from, the Tamar Valley we’re interested!

Please see ‘Take Part for more details and to keep up to date with the latest articles and opportunities be sure to follow us on social media.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy reading articles about the subjects that inspire you the most.
